Deborah Boykin talks with Al Head, ASCA Executive Director and Nick Spitzer, host and producer of American Routes, heard on Saturday nights on Troy Public Radio. They discuss working together in Louisiana when Al, as Executive Director of the Louisiana State Council on the Arts, hired Nick as the agency’s folklorist. Other topics include the growth of public folklore in the Southeast and the rich musical traditions found in the region.
